Gail Morris's journey is inward, inevitably leading to the light. Light plays a central role in her sculpture, making it vibrate and allowing us to perceive the intensity of the material.
The act of removal becomes a meaningful giving, traversing a path toward the essential, prompting us to contemplate what we see and what we wish to see.
The artist
Gail Morris was born in Bangor, North Wales, England. From '76 to '79, she attended the Wimbledon School of Art in London, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sculptural Art. From '82 to '84, she pursued an advanced course at the Martins School of Art in London. She has been exhibiting her works since '78, first in London, England, and then in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, and Romania. She has participated in international sculpture symposia in Chile, Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy and has conducted sculpture workshops in Croatia and Slovenia.
