Rizzolo
In the northern area of Rizzolo, along the Udine millstream, lies the oldest iron-beating mill in the region, known as Farie Sbuelz, named after the family that has always owned the building.
Isolated from the surrounding houses, it consists of two buildings, with the taller one serving as a residence and the second for artisanal activities. The exact construction date is uncertain but is estimated to be between the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
The structure has remained largely intact over time, although originally the masonry was constructed entirely from pebbles from the Torre stream and quarry stones with blocks of piasentina. Outside, visitors can admire hydraulic mechanisms and diversion works, while inside, some machinery is still preserved by the owning family.
